Last year saw the club's 85th Anniversary, with members providing support, expertise and friendship to those whom we can best help. As part of a century-old international fellowship organisation with 1.2 million members, we provide help in this country and overseas, from a strong base of community service to the people of Poole.

Charity events in this Rotary year will include the continuing need to raise funds to eradicate Polio worldwide.We shall be making a special effort to support Poole Hospital - specifically the Scanner Appeal and in addition help to provide the essential funds for equipment in an operating theatre to increase the number of Laparoscopic operations.Our main fund raising event will be a fete in Poole Park in July 2010. Other funds and charities will include the Poole Parcel Fund (as well as assisting in the distribution of the parcels at Christmas time),Youth Cancer Trust, Young Carers, the Wheel Chair Trust and several other local charities. oo0oo

We have had excellent speakers at our weekly meetings, on a very wide range of topics - please see our programme for forthcoming speakers. oo0oo

The Club is privileged to be situated in a vibrant town with one of the world’s greatest natural harbours, surrounded by beautiful and varied countryside. We are also proud of the town’s 750 year heritage.

Visiting Rotarians are sure of a warm welcome. Our usual meeting time is at 12.30pm, on Tuesdays, at Amity Hall, Market Close but please check our meeting times for variations.
