International Committee's

Achievements

Grateful new owners

As well as raising funds to further our links with our twinned clubs of Loches in France and Keil-Eider in North Germany, this committee makes up Disaster/Aqua, Shelter boxes and Life Boxes for shipment , at a moments notice, to help people in disaster stricken regions anywhere in the world. We are currently filling two more Shelter Boxes for storing until needed somewhere in the world.

At the moment the committee is not only supporting the Umfundisi Project in South Africa, whose aims are to educate teachers for local shools, but its main charity this year is the Wheelchair Foundation in Africa and eastern Europe. A further sum of £220 has been sent to the Foundation in addition to several hundred pounds we have already sent.

Once again this Christmas we supported the appeal by Cumbran Vale Rotary Club entitled "Adopt a Minefield" , by buying their excellent Christmas puddings, with an element of the price going towards their appeal.

The strength of the Rotary movement is its international brotherhood and we welcome visiting Rotarians from all over the World to the club's weekly lunch meetings.

A party of 22 visited our Loches link club from 16 18 May 2009. We are proud to have very strong and happy links with our French and German clubs.
